IPS' Fall Showcase: 2015 Centers and Power Forwards
Inside Prep Sports/By Corey McKendry and TJ Kelley
The 7th annual Inside Prep Sports' Fall Showcase featured a handful of the best bigs in the 2015 class and it can be expected that center and power forward positions will fuel Michigan's deep 2015 class. Here's a look at the standouts at the five and four positions:
Trevor Manuel (6'9” F Lansing Sexton)- Trevor showed a little bit of everything. Dunked in traffic, was great in skill drills, made jumpers, blocked shots and rebounded. Has potential to be a matchup nightmare because of his ability to play inside and out. Handles the ball well for someone his size. Michigan State, Providence, and EMU have offered.
Michael Edwards (6'8” Post Westland John Glenn)- Has improved since the July Tune up and does a nice job taking stuff from the drills to the games. Runs the floor well and had some really tough finishes. Very good in the 1-1 post drills on defense as he knows how to use his length. Can shoot the midrange.
Gary Perry (6'7” Post Bishop Foley)- Long post player who defends and rebounds at a high level. Offense is coming along as he is dunking stuff he wasn't only a month ago. Very good timing on shot blocks. Made midrange jumpers in drills.
Ryan Roberts (6'7" F Northville)- Strong big who uses angles well to score inside. Active on the perimeter with ball screen and cuts. Rebounds very well. Showed off improved athleticism in the drills. Hard worker.
Alexander Burney (6'9" C Detroit Osborn)- Big Alex runs the floor well and uses length inside. Looks like he still has growing to do. Competed in the 1-1 post drills and did a very nice job. Got better as the day went on.
