2nd annual Winter Breakout

Milan High School is the place to be Saturday, December 14th as eight of the state's top teams will compete in four great matchups with many of the state's best players competing throughout the day.  Teams from the Ann Arbor area, Flint, Grand Rapids, and Metro Detroit make this one of the Midwest's top events of the season!  Competive games, highlights, and great basketball wrapped into a great afternoon of hoops!  Check out the the matchups and player profiles to see how they stand with the best in the state!

1pm- Flint Southwestern is #8 in Class B led by 6'3" 2015 shooting guards with similar style's of play Jaire Grayer, #18 player in the class, and Neshua Wise.  Melvindale ABT is Class C's #9 team led by floor general 5'10" 2015 point guard Lavail Russell along with have you with two of the state's top freshmen, 6'4" forward and Elijah Smith and the versatile 6'5" wing Jamal Cain.

2:40pm- A matchup of two Top 25 team's in Class A, Ypsilanti Lincoln and Grand Rapids Union.  The Rail Splitter's 6'6" 2016 forward Ty Groce is one of the state's top sophomore prospects while teammate 6'7" 2015 small forward Devin Haygood holds an offer from New Orleans.  Grand Rapids Union 6'4" senior small forward Rashaud Orange is one of the state's best kept secrets and committed to Grand Valley State in November.  6'4" senior win Jalen Arnold neared a double-double average last year with points and rebounds.  Also, with the closing of Grand Rapids Creston last year Union not only obtained Orange but Creston's #1 and #3 scorers in junior Curtis Davison and senior Dimitri Diepstra.

4:20pm- Detroit Henry Ford is #5 in Class B with sharp-shooting 6'4" 2015 sg/wing Josh Davis#14 in Michigan's 2015, 5'10" 2016 pg James Towns II#10 Player in 2016.  Canton is the #22 team in Class A and the Chiefs are led by 6'8" 2014 small forward Jordan Nobles who recently signed with nearby Eastern Michigan.  6'6" sophomore Logan Ryan is an up and coming player who like Nobles can step away from the basket and make some shots.
6pm- Milan is the #2 team in Class B and led by Milan's dynamic junior duo 6'7" power forward Nick Perkins, #4 in 2015, and 6' point guard Latin Davis, jr., #20 in 2015.  The host Big Reds will face Bloomfield Hills, #10 team in Class A.  Bloomfield Hills 6'8" 2014 pf Yante Maten is the top rated unsigned senior in Michigan's 2014 class.  The Knights also have unsigned seniors 6'5 wing Khalil Gracey and 6'2" sg Armand Cartwright, who are three and four-year varsity players receiving college looks.
